People & Prejudice

 These past 2 weeks I have faced so much prejudice in the neighborhood. I'm totally taken aback at the way people assume and react without knowing you. Some few weeks back I was marketing for a hotel called Kimball Royal Treat opposite Gloriakatravelers around the Goil Filling Station at Odado Junction. One man by name Mr Kamassa who works at the University Registry out of Paranoia kept threatening me because I was standing opposite their hotel listening to music. In his mind I was investigating them. He kept wagging his finger threateningly at me. The hostility and antagonism is too much. Unbeknownst to him I'd entered into a contract with the manager of the gym and I was helping with Branding and marketing. I used my camera to take shots of the place and shared on social media to attract patrons. I am lodging a complaint against him. If he does it a 3rd time, i would like to have him arrested and tried.

Another incident of prejudice occured at a spot called "Adom Spot". I took about 10ghc from the madam for an errand and I did a favour in return. She was in need of a Disc Jockey so I walked to Nkwantanang to get her somebody to DJ for her and when I got back one old man who was sitting with her and her friend got up and started saying I'm a scammer. He got so physical with me. He grabbed me by the neck and squeezed with all his might. If it wasn't for the intervention of those around he would have strangled me to death. I didn't react though. I just stood still as he misbehaved.

This was also a very sad experience.

The very last one occured this morning, 4th November, 2024. I was trying to pluck some coconut for a certain lady and the dark boy retorted. I shouldn't steal it. I got angry and the lady who had told me to show decorum but I was furious. He went on to say I was drunk and that's why I nearly handled

He kept starting me down and acting so disrespectful. This gentleman is probably in his mid twenties. He was talking to me very disrespectfully. He was Patronizing me. Acting like he was going to call some goons of his. He asked if I can speak Effutu when I told him I'm from Winneba and then I stumbled a bit and he called me a drunk. Basically he has defamed me. If things had gone sideways people could have lynched me thinking I was really a thief.

I want the law to deal with him for libel.

He has marred my reputation as a journalist and as such I wan't him to be dealt with. For somebody who has political ambitions and would love to run for President one day, facing all this prejudice isn't healthy at all.
